Finlab takes privacy seriously

Finlab is committed to providing our customers with a safe and secure online environment. Our policy has been updated recently with the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP). We will never sell or rent any personal information shared on the Finlab website–that is our guarantee to you. We will not monetize your personal data in anyway, nor do we engage in data aggregation. We use information conservatively to improve our user’s experiences.

How we collect and use personal information

We collect and process information in two ways, 1) to contact a visitor per request, (for example through a submission form or newsletter request); and 2) to store IP address information in server logs.

Contact Forms

We collect personally identifiable information, such as names, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, etc. only when voluntarily submitted by visitors through our site. Should you choose to fill out a contact form, you are consenting to sharing that information with Finlab. The information provided by contact forms is used only for contacting, shipping and billing purposes, unless otherwise indicated by the submitter. Furthermore, all personal data collected is kept secure and only authorized individuals have access to this information.

Newsletter / Email Marketing

For visitors who choose to be added to our mailing lists, Finlab uses only permission-based email marketing; all newsletters from us allow customers to opt-out of future mailings.

Feedback Forms

For visitors who choose to leave feedback, Finlab uses only permission-based materials explicitly acknowledged by the checkboxes and all feedback forms filled out allow visitors to opt-out from public use.

IP Addresses

For visitors who choose to fill out submission forms, Finlab does not track the address or do anything with the information other than store the IP Address in server logs, along with the personal information voluntarily provided by the user within the form submission.

How data is collected

Cookies & Sessions

A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website is stored to a user’s computer through the web browser when a website is visited. Different cookies track different information. Cookies track a visits and activity of a visitor - not personally identifying information. Session Cookies are used when a visitor is actively using a site, and once the visitors leaves the session cookies disappear.

Most tracking information is pseudo-anonymous. Finlab uses information from cookies to improve our website usability or research used through Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and CailRail.

Remarketing

Finlab uses remarketing to advertise to users who have visited the Finlab website. Ads may appear for related products to users who have visited our site before. Third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites across the internet in text and/or display form using cookies to serve ads based on visitors past visits to the website.

Users can opt-out of Google's use of cookies by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Users can also opt-out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Circumstances that may require information sharing

Finlab may share personal information with governmental or other agencies on a case by case basis. Finlab will only do so when:

1) Required by law.
2) Protecting against or preventing actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transaction.
3) Investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.

How collected data can be deleted

Personal information provided in a submission form to Finlab can only be deleted by Finlab; and would require an email or form submission request to do so. We can remove the entry, IP address and answers stored in server logs.

Privacy policy changes

By using Finlab’s website, visitors are accepting the practices described above in this Privacy Policy. Finlab reserves the right to make changes to this policy. Any changes to this policy will be posted. Any changes made will only apply to activities and information going forward, not retroactively. Visitors are encouraged to review the privacy policy whenever visiting the site for the most up-to-date information on how personal information may be used.
